Wouldn’t it be neat if you could make a shield that would surround you completely? A shield that would protect you from negative attitudes, negative feelings?
Would you like to know how to make one?
Great! I’ll show you how.
Find a quiet place to sit down and relax. Take 3 deep breaths and visualize this very special shield surrounding you. Make it big enough that you don’t feel any pressure, yet small enough that you feel loved and protected.
What does it look like, feel like, even smell like?
Why not instill a gizmo that rings or buzzes every time you hear words that used to bring discomfort or pain. You smile as you realize the words are on the other side of the shield and can’t get to you. This tells you it is working and keeping you feeling safe.
And guess what?
You do feel safe. Doesn’t that feel great?
This is a fantastic way to be in control of your feelings. Now, you can filter out negative attitudes, take a deep breath and feel good.
